Description: A ship named 'Tongan Monarchy' founders and sinks while the King of Tonga, George (Siaosi) Tupou V, who sits astride one of the funnels realises that the ship (or himself) is 'top-heavy, unfit for service, is poorly captained and is going down'. He says that he is 'beginning to empathise with the ferry victims'. Refers to the tragic sinking of the ferry 'Pacific Ashika' on 6 August 2009 with the loss of more than ninety lives. As the ferry sank King Tupou V left the country on an extended Scottish holiday despite being aware of the tragedy. Colour and black and white versions available Quantity: 1 digital cartoon(s).
