Includes: - Manuscript score and two photocopies for several violin parts, headed "Sazi/Vagelis". - Manuscript score and two photocopiess for several violin parts, untitled. - One page of manuscript notes headed "V1 part". - Untitled pages of manuscript score with discontinuous pagination, some of which are stapled into sections. - A note from a staff member of Prometheus Editions, relating to the editing of the score. - Manuscript notes and sections of manuscript musical notation on self adhesive notepaper. - One page of paper prelined with musical staves, with no notation inscribed. - Two pages of blank paper, one of which has part of an apparently unrelated article from the Southland Times printed on the reverse. The record for this composition on the website for SOUNZ Centre for New Zealand Music at explains that it was commissioned by New Zealand String Quartet in honour of the 60th anniversary of Wellington Chamber Music Society, with financial support from Creative New Zealand. Both movements of this work began as transcriptions of recorded performances by two of Greece's living master-musicians, clarino player Manos Achalinotopoulos and percussionist Vagelis Karypis. A review of a New Zealand String Quartet performance of the piece by Alan Cooper, published 10 November 2008 and accessed from on 10 November 2017, notes that the finished composition has two sections, named 'Unbridled, Manos Breathes the Voice of Life into Kartsigar' and 'Vagelis Varies the Sazi Riff at the Paradiso'. Some notes, score sections and self adhesive notes were received in a smaller envelope within this, labelled "Ultrabeat Stickies, List for Pedro, all [cut'n'paste bag?]". They were removed from that envelope for preservation purposes, and a photocopy of the envelope was inserted. Piece-level records created for digitising purposes in August 2021.
