Engineer and company director. Was Managing Director of Cable Price Corp Ltd from 1962 - 1969, and of New Zealand Steel from 1969 - 1986. Ingram was appointed a Commander of the Order of the British Empire in 1984 for services to manufacturing and the engineering profession, and was knighted in the 1994 New Year Honours. After retiring, he became a trustee of both the World Wildlife Fund and Antarctic Heritage Trust, as well as a member of the Auckland Area Health Board and Waitangi Tribunal. Ingram was husband to Lady Rosemary Ingram for 63 years, as well as a father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
