Torrens, Robert Richard (Sir), 1814-1884

Son of Colonel Robert Torrens, MP, one of the founders of South Australia. He was appointed to an official position in Adelaide in 1851 and later became Premier for a while, but returned to England in 1863, later becoming M.P. and dying on 31 August 1884.
