Reports interview of Kataraina Mape, ca 75 years old, and Hori Te Wahia, ca 90 years old, expressing a different version of the background of the name [Murdering Beach] than Hocken had previously understood. 3. Hocken to W H Triggs. Dated 16 Apr 1908. Concerning Craik's `The New Zealanders'. "...undoubtedly an admirable compilation..." 4. Hocken to Charles Wilson. Dated 14 Sept 1909.
