Description: Contains photographs of the Cleveland family in the United States of America, circa 1985 to 1990 and circa 2003 to 2004. Photographs taken by Les Cleveland as well as other, unidentified photographers, likely including Mary Cleveland and other Cleveland family members. Photographs taken in Maryland feature a trip to the town of Saint Michaels, including photographs of the Hooper Straight Light, Miss Freedom Figurehead, and a trip on a boat with a machine gun. Also in this sequence of prints are photographs taken on a family visit to Arlington Cemetery and at the Festival of American Folklife. Mary, Peter, Edward, and Les Cleveland all appear in these photographs, including posing together and picnicking. Prints from another trip, in Virginia or Maryland, show the annual muster of Chincoteague ponies on Chincoteague or Assateague islands. Photographs include the horses in yards, being mustered by horseback riders, and spectators (including Les, Peter, and Edward Cleveland and some people in traditional dress, possibly Amish). Also included in this sequence are photographs of Peter Cleveland and another teenager with their bicycles. New Mexico photographs include buildings and street scene in the town of Pinos Altos as well as a photograph of Mary Cleveland in a motel. Further prints show buildings in Santa Fe (including Adobe construction), sculptures [Shidoni?], and unidentified people. Also contains original photo wallets, Title supplied by Library. Arrangement: Prints and negatives arrived at Library in print wallets inside a file box labelled "Noel Mangin Southern Voices." They were layered on the top of the box.
