Gillespie, John Richard, 1936-

Wellington artist and graphic designer for Downstage production of "The Fantasticks" in 1966. He was born in Masterton, studied at the Canterbury Art School 1956-1960; travelled to England and Europe in 1963-1964. He exhibited with the Canterbury Society of Arts. In the 1969 electoral roll, he is listed as an art editor in Wellington. He was employed by the National Publicity Studios in the early 1980s (see Public Service list).
