Description: Plan of the 5,829 acre property, Ravenswood Run, part of Block V and VI, Gordon District, south of Nelson. The Run includes within its boundary part of the Norris Gulley, part of the Nelson - Motupiko Railway, the Upper Motueka Valley Road, the Motueka River, a small section of the Motupiko River, and Mount Norris. Some sections within the Run are subdivided and numbered. The numbered sections on either side of the Motueka River, coloured pink, are freehold. The boundary of the entire property, marked Run number 22, is pink. Motupiko (which has a school, church and store), Bromells Accommodation House, a bridge, Olivers Road, Wai-iti and Kohatu Station are marked. Description: Cadastral map of numerous numbered sections on either side of Cole Street and the Waipouhuku Stream adjacent to Renall Estate. Includes measurements and prices in pounds sterling which correspond with the attached list on Chennell's notepaper. The Makoura Creek is named. A line, prominently marked, appears to be a fenceline but is not referred to in either a key or notes. Sites of houses are marked in few sections. Names include Miss Cole, H. Cole, Pickering, Richards, Temple, Galway, F. Maunsell, Campbell, K. Chapman, Richards, Sutton, Townsend. Pencilled additions include a small number of sections of Renall Estate and several jottings of totals of prices List of section numbers and price in pounds sterling for Coles Estate, dated 20 Oct 1906, handwritten on the reverse of W. Description: Map of timber block plan, depicting two timber mill sites along the Whanganui River, a saw mill beside the Kakahi Railway Station, grazing land, and several annotated comments on the logging potential of various forest areas containing Matai, Totora and Rimu. Also shows three flax mills, the Matapiki homestead (owned by L. Grace), and the government timber reserve. Shows abandoned and newly pegged railway route along the Whanganui River. Description: A base map of the plan of the subdivision of Whangaimoana estate to be sold by public auction has been used to list the buyers of various lots, some with prices in pounds sterling and others with acreages. This information appears on headed notepaper of W.B. Chennells & Co. mounted on the reverse of the map. Names include Eli, Holmes Warren, Heckler, J. Graham, Gillier, J. Iorns, T. Kennedy, Pilmer, P. Dransfield. The first of the three base maps shows lots 1 to 26 in the area from Palliser Bay to Lake Onoke to Tauranganui Stream. Includes homesteads, woolshed, sheepyards, bridle track, school site, Scotch church, ferry. Names include McDougall Bros., Kelly. Lots 30 to 40 are shown on the second map, an enlarged plan. Map three is a locality plan of the area from Palliser Bay to Featherston and Masterton. Description: A base map advertising an auction of the Oaks Estate has names of purchasers and values in pounds sterling annotated in some of the sections. These are adjacent to Oak, Colville, Paul, Carrerthen [sic - Carverthem], Grierson and Edith Streets to the Upper Plains Road. Chamberlain Street is also marked. Names include Cork, M. McGovern, Scrimigeour, J. Griffin. Mounted on the top right of the map is sheet of headed paper from W. B. Chennells, auctioneers, with a list of sections and values in pounds sterling. The second map is an inset locality plan of the area from Kuripuni Station to Masterton railway station and township. Includes the railway line, Railway Road, Renall, Perry and Hall Streets, Waipoua River. Post pillar boxes, store, telephone and a village are marked and these facilities are referred to in a description of the area. Description: A newspaper cutting listing sale details of purchasers, prices in pounds sterling and acreages of the Alpass Estate, subdivided into four farms, is mounted on the top left of a base map of the estate. Names include Harman & Smith (Alfredton), C. Dickens (Rakaunui), T. Dunn (Rakaunui), John Boustead (Alfredton). The auction also included town properties and sale information names the streets and following purchasers: R.K. Jackson, J. Russell, J. Hooper, J. Boustead. The main base map shows the Alpass Estate in four lots in the area four miles from Alfredton along a metalled road which runs through the estate, along with an unnamed stream thought to be Te Hoe Stream. Each lot is divided into named paddocks with fence lines. Lot 1 includes a site of a proposed homestead and a 50 acre section, No. 43, named Church of England Reserve. Lot 2 includes the site of a homestead, woolshed and two roads. Lot 3 includes the site of a proposed homestead and two roads. Lot 4 includes the Castle Hill peak. Adjacent sections include the names of Te Hoe Estate, W. Kebbell, Education Reserve, College Reserve. The second map is a locality plan of the area from Alfredton to the Alpass Estate. Notes include extensive detail of the land, the situation and monetary terms of purchase.
