Fulbright New Zealand

Organisation established in1948, under treaty between the NZ & US governments, and previously known as the New Zealand-United States Educational Foundation. The organisation is responsible for the management of the Fulbright Programme, the Ian Axford (NZ) Fellowships in Public Policy and the Harkness Fellowships programme in NZ. These programmes provide awards for New Zealanders and Americans to study, teach, and research in each others' conutries. Funded by the New Zealand and US giovernments, with some additional funding from sponosrs. Governed by a board comprising six New Zealanders and six Americans.
