Description: Aerial photograph, produced by NZ Aerial Mapping Ltd., Ref. No. A/S 2218, Flown 27.3.69, of L.W. Tonkin's farm in the Matakohe area, NE of Kaipara Harbour, used as a base map to which the farm and paddock boundaries have been outlined in red and detailed in a key. Hand-written notes in the margin give details of neighbouring houses with name references. Features include a trig point with height in feet, cabbage trees (location of), height in feet (of a hill), silo, to Matakohe, Ruatuna. A.P.B.W. believed to be the cartographer. Hand-written notes included in the margins are as follows: "Mainly hill country (sold 1947 to Crown for rehab) leading to 'The Swamp' on Ruawai Flats." "Matakohe Beet Farms, Ltd. Description: An illustrated blank invitation. Top left is the royal coat of arms, surmounting a double portrait of the Duke and Duchess of Cornwall. A Maori child is holding a wreath alongside with a banner marked 'A thousand welcomes'. Top centre are portraits of King Edward VI and Queen Alexandra. Top right is a tondo with a tattooed Maori warrior, surmounted by a New Zealand flag. Bottom left is a Maori woman, holding a banner inscribed Haere mai, with another marked Te Manuhiri Tuarangi. The wording of the invitation is flanked by Maori carvings. Bottom right is a view of Ohinemutu, Lake Rotorua and Mokoia Island with native clematis in the foreground --Same. 3 extra copies.
