Wellington Cultural Centre

By 1962 The Cultural Centre Art Gallery and Museum of Modern Art in New Zealand had been establised at 13 Elizabeth Street, Mount Victoria, Wellington. Its director was (Madame) Durga Lall. It is not certain whether this is the same as the Wellington Cultural Centre Inc, in existence in 1977. Was accessed from Cuba Street via the arcade called Cubacade (where Left Bank is today in 2012). In the 1960s the Wellington Cultural Centre was called Rothman's Gallery, and prior to 1970 Cubacade was called the Normandie Arcade.
