Recalls: early memories of bus transport, Blue Star Bus Company operating at Vernons corner, later bought by Charlie Inwards; shops at Vernons corner built 1925 with reference to Scotty Rae, haberdashery and stationery shop; school buses; apprenticeship at McClymonts; nationalisation of road transport [school buses?], with reference to McClymonts, Norths, Feltons, Trapsky, Hilders, Ivan Brewer, New Plymouth Transport and Northern Road Transport; experience as a stow porter with New Zealand Railways; Brljevich fire, with reference to Tony Brljevich, largest propagator of carnations in New Zealand.
