Lynch, Murray, active 1973-2000s

Theatre director and playwright. He began his career at Four Seasons Theatre in Whanganui in 1973, and at age 22 was appointed Associate Director of Centrepoint Theatre in Palmerston North, and Artistic Director three years later. He then worked at Theatre Coporate in Auckland, formed a theatre-in-education company called Spare Parts and took the position of Artistic Director of the Maidment Arts Centre at the University of Auckland. He was founding director of Tantrum Theatre Company. In 1989 he moved to Wellington and became Associate Director at Downstage. He became director there in 2000. During the 1990s he also worked at Toi Whakaari.
