Registered as an incorporated society in 1907, for the purpose of funding the building of, and managing, a Trades Hall for Wellington. Unions were members of the society and put forward delegates to serve on the Executive Committee. Closely associated with the Wellington Trades and Labour Council (later the Wellington District Council of the Federation of Labour), which lead the move to build a Trades Hall in Wellington. The Trades Hall itself was built in Vivian Street in 1923 and Wellington Trades Hall Incorporated continues to manage the building.
