Identifies structural elements of the mine, for example stoppings, air crossings, goaf areas, elevations, falls. Plan shows where at least nineteen people died. Description: Sketch map of the coast to the south and north of the mouth of the Whakapohai River. Haihai is marked on the map to the south. To the north the only named feature is Taura o te Weka. Haast has indicated the location of mussels, seals, paua and sandy beaches; as well as a track from `the ford' at Haihai extending north along the coast to the mouth of the river, then along the south bank of the river, crossing upstream at a point marked `good whare', then an inland route crossing to the coast and continuing to Taura o te Weka. Further north is the [Little] Wanganui River, and Karamea and Oparara, both surrounded by mud flats. At the north end of the map is an area marked `mussels'.
