Description: Photographs of a state visit to the Cook Islands, followed by a tour of various subantarctic islands, viewing the landscape and fauna, by Lord and Lady Glasgow, on the ship Hinemoa, in 1894. Photographs of Rarotonga include portraits of Ariki Makea Takau and her husband Ngamaru Rongotini; large group scenes at various welcoming celebrations; scenes of life in Rarotonga; and Ariki Makea Takau's residence. The Cook Islands photographs are followed by several newspaper cuttings of Lord Glasgow's visit; followed by views of Snares Island, Campbell Island, Antipodes Islands, Auckland Islands and Chatham Islands, also with newspaper cuttings.
