Reweti, Tumanako Te Puna, 1903-1980

Born and educated in Auckland. Well-known for her voluntary welfare and community work in the Freemans Bay area of Auckland. She received a British Empire Medal and a Silver Jubilee Medal for her services to Maori people. In 1977 she was also awarded life membership of the Labour Party. She was active in the Maori Women's Health League and a foundation member of the Waitemata District Council of the Maori Women's Welfare League and later served on the Waitemata Regional Executive.
