Born in Glasgow, Scotland. Took photograph DA-12288. 2nd Lieutenant, Divisional Petrol Company, NZEF, POW WWII. Received a returned serviceman's balloted farm after the Second World War near Pukehou, Hawkes Bay. Was Chairman of the National Party in Hawkes Bay for many years. Father of Tina Reid. His mother (Jennie Simpson) was one of the first medical graduates from St Andrews and a missionary in Northern India.
