Name transcribed from the minutes of a meeting held at Takapuwahia January 3, 1862 to hear a land dispute between Ngati Toa and Nicholas Searancke. Te Kakakura Wi Parata was the spokesperson for Ngati Toa. Wahu Te Wahu is stated as being one of the Ngati Toa chiefs present at this hearing.
