Artist. After leaving Palmerston North Boys' High School he became an apprentice journalist in Manawatu Evening Standard, writing art reviews abd criticisms. Studied painting under Alan Leary, P.N. Technical College. Entered Canterbury School of Fine Arts 1955 and graduated 1957. After a year at Auckland Training College he returned to Christchurch to take up a teaching post. First one-man show in 1960. In 1964 he was awarded Arts Advisory Council grant for travel in USA. He formed the 20/20 Vision Group of artists after his return to NZ. His works are held by various NZ galleries including National Art Gallery, Wellington.
