Hau-Te-Horo, Hariata, 1845-

Born December 1845 at Whareroa, present day MacKays Crossing and QE11 Park, south of Paraparaumu and Waikanae, Kapiti Coast. The chief Te Hau-Te-Horo was a famous warrior of the Taranaki tribes who migrated with his in the early 1830s. He was later killed in battle at Waikanae 1834.
