The school's history dates back to 1878 when Mrs Mary Ann Swainson established and day and boarding school originally known as the Fitzherbert Terrace School. It was sold to the Anglican Archdiocese of Wellington in 1920 and moved to Karori in 1926. The photographs in this collection will date from the school's existence in Thorndon.
