Mitchell, James, -1890

Emigrated to New Zealand from Clyde in the ship 'Blenheim' in 1840 with his wife Jean/Jane (née Stewart) and their two daughter Marion and Jane. Settled in Porirua. Farmed 'The Burnside' until he moved to Wellington. Died 15 August 1890, at Alma-lane, Tory-street, aged 79 years. Buried at Sydney Street Cemetery, Wellington. See obituary - Evening Post, 16 Aug 1890, p 2.
