Youngest son of Mr Philip Davis, Salisbury Street, Christchurch, late of Radcliffe Square, Oxford, England. On 6 January 1876 at St. Andrew's Church, Lyttelton, he married Jane Murray, eldest daughter of Mr Thomas Burnet, South town belt, Christchurch, and late of Roxburgh, Scotland. Major Davis. Officer in charge, Group Five National Reserve. Received letters from members of the NZ Expeditionary Force to Samoa in 1914. Died on 17 July 1920 at his residence, Brougham-Street, aged 69 years. Buried in the family plot at Sydney Street Cemetery, Wellington.
