Description: An album created by a group of young friends relating to Titahi Bay and Akatarawa between 1915 and 1917. Names listed on page one. The album consists of photographs, poems (by Gladys E Haggett), and silhouettes and water-colour illustrations by M.M. (Marjorie (Marjory) Mills), with Marjorie H Mills' bookplate inside front cover. Most of the images show views taken at Titahi Bay and Akatarawa, and there is a section showing various ships. These include the CS Patrol (Cable Ship `Patrol'), with members of the crew; the Emden in Kiel Canal, the crew of the Emden, and the Emden wrecked at Cocos Island; and HMAS Sydney. Description: Personal photographs of family and friends. The colection has a strong female focus; Edith Smith and what are probably her classmates and friends at an easter camp, swimming, in groups, and just generally together. There are photographs of what must be family, relations, and family friends. Some of these are associated with a farm, and there are photographs of mothers and grandmothers with babies. Men appear in the later photographs more and more, especially from 1914/15 when most of them are soldiers on their way to war This is a collection primarily focused on people.
