Auctioneer. Eldest son of Henry Matson (d 1885). Born in Burrumbeet, Victoria, Australia. Died on 15 Apr 1895 at Springfield Estate, aged 50 years (Star, 15 Apr 1895, p 3). According to Rob Weir, Fullbright scholar, he was associated with the Christchurch branch of the Knights of Labour (personal communication early 2001). See obituary - Press, 16 Apr 1895, p 5.
