Dwyer, J (Lieutenant-Colonel), active 1860s

Major and later Lieutenant-Colonel of the 2nd Battalion, 14th Buckinghamshire Regiment. Fought in the New Zealand Wars. Arrived in New Zealand aboard the ship 'Boanerges' on 10 Sep 1860, accompanied by his wife Mrs Dwyer. Wrote to Donald McLean from Otahuhu, Napier and Wellington in 1864. On 4 Feb 1865 his Second Battalion moved to Wanganui from Wellington. Wrote to R R Strang from Camp Wanganui, 1865. Wrote to his niece Edith (Edie) Minifie on 27 Mar 1865 from Camp Wanganui.
