Crown Lynn Potteries

Large pottery and ceramics producer, based at Grey Lynn, Auckland, which produced the majority of New Zealand's domestic wares in 1950s-1970s. Founded as Amalgamated Brick and Pipe Company. Notable designer of the 1960s included Wellington commercial artist Otway Josling and Auckland artist Don Mills. Winners of the company's design awards in 1961 and 1962 were Mark Cleverley (1961), Graham Percy and Robert Drake (1962) (Information from newsletter at Eph-C-CERAMICS-1963-01).

The donor previously worked for the Association as an industrial researcher. As it was infested with silverfish it was placed in the freezer in Conservation where it stayed for a year.
