Johnson, James Woodbine, 1844-1899

Gained his MA at Cambridge in 1865. He and his brother George Randall Johnson lived in Queensland for two years before they settled in Poverty Bay. He participated in the fighting against Te Kooti; was Poverty Bay's first representative on the Auckland Provincial Council; and the first chairman of Cook County.
