Pukenamu, Battle of, N.Z., 1832

Pukenamu was fought between the Te Ati Awa tribes migrating during the heke Tama Te Uaua and the Whanganui and Ngati Tuwharetoa tribes. The battle took place at Whanganui. The brother of Te Heuheu Mananui, Te Popo, was killed at the Te Ati Awa during this battle.

Rangipito use's the term "Uruuru-purumu" to describe the 19th century musket used by Maori.
