Description: Transparencies showing the pop group 'Hogsnort Rupert' taken in the Wellington Botanic Garden and on the cable car, Wellington City, photographed by Cyril Beavis sometime between 1969 and June 1971. Also includes transparencies showing a group camping at Pipiriki, Whanganui, taken by Cyril Beavis circa 1970s. Also includes a lake scene at an unidentified location. Transparencies labelled "Picnic?" continued at PA12-2913. Title supplied by Library. Arrangement: Slides delivered in housing with annotations that read "Picnic?" The band 'Hogsnort Rupert' was originally called 'Hogsnort Rupert's Original Flagon Band', and was formed to enter the 1969 New Faces series on television. The group disbanded in June 1971. The original line-up was Alec Wishart (percussion/vocals); Dave Luther (guitar/vocals); Ian Terry (guitar/vocals); Frank Boardman (tea chest bass); Billy Such (drums).
