Description: 4 views of businesses in the Wellington region: the Hotel Waterloo on the corner of Bunny Street and Waterloo Quay; Levin & Co, who had premises on Featherston Street and Customhouse Quay; Royal Tiger Hotel, on the corner of Abel Smith Street and Taranaki Street; and the Provincial Hotel in Upper Hutt. At the time the photographs were taken Thomas Fisher was the proprietor of the Provincial Hotel and E Dunn was the proprietor of the Royal Tiger. Photographer unidentified but it may be Hall Raine. Description: All frames show demonstrators and onlookers after a protest against the NZSIS Amendment Bill (New Zealand Security Intelligence Service Amendment Bill) in Parliament grounds. They were taken in Taranaki Street near the SIS headquarters. Many images are focussed on young Māori participants in the crowd. A young man in frame 6 is wearing a sweatshirt with the logo University of Southern California. Various placards and banners are visible including "Smash Fascism", "Muldoon, How much power do you want?", "Journalists for a free press", and, "Wellington journalists for press freedom". A number of young men and women are on the roof of the Royal Tiger Tavern on the corner of Abel Smith and Taranaki Streets with the placard "Big S.I.S. is watching".
