Bennison, George, 1861-1933

Was a renowned horseman. In 1884 he was in the employ of the late John Griggs at his Longbeach estate, but in the following April he went north to Masterton, being employed for bush felling at Tinui until August 1886. He was later appointed as a driver of the coach service from Masterton to Castlepoin operated by T P Lett, and he continued in that capacity until October 1893. (See AT 13/12/4 25/3/02). Died 7 July 1933.
