Born at Halstead, Essex, England. Arrived in Wellington 5 January 1880, on the barque `Scottish Prince.' Married Swedish settler Adolphus Swensson in 1885. Lived for many years in Otaki where she died on 13 December 1943. Mother of William Swensson and nine other children.
