Chartered accountant and secretary. Born in London, son of W Hunt; married Annie Ethel Cooper (d 1954) in 1906. Arrived in NZ in 1884 with parents. Partner William Hunt & Co, later Watkins, Hull, Hunt & Wheeler for 16 years. Later established Ernest Hunt, Turner & Co (public accountants). Involved with NZ Academy of Fine Arts; Cathedral Committee Anglican Diocese of Wellington; foundation member Rotary in NZ; Lower Hutt Borough Council 1923-1927; New Zealand Crippled Children's Society; Vice-president and councillor Ex Libris Society; Nz Geographic Society; Wellington Show Association.
