McLaughlin, Jim, 1908-1994

Worked with Post Office as telegraph cadet, and later as radio operator, spending time in the Chatham Islands (1932-1936). Rose to position of Senior Radio Inspector, in Hamilton, from 1943-1965. Son of William McLaughlin (c1865-c1956) and Mary (née Cummins; c1870-c1956). Husband of Mabel Trafalgar McLaughlin (née Jennings; b 1905) whom he met while in the Chatham Islands.
