Description: Shows two cottages close to one another, one with a thatched roof, at a bend on the banks of the Avon, in a treeless landscape, close to Barbadoes Street, the landing place for boats coming up the Avon from the Estuary and sea. The Bricks was built of bricks made by the Deans brothers of Riccarton. There are several other smaller buildings on the right.
