Known as Phil Bowering. A New Zealand muscian, and double bass player. Born in the United Kingdom, grew up in New Plymouth. Studied jazz improvisation under Colin Hemmingsen at Wellington’s Creative Music School. Known for his groups Outlines, The Protons, Low Profile, and Potent Brew, and a highly experimental musical output. After some commercial success in the late 1980s, he continued to perform in a number of ensembles in the UK, Auckland and the Taranaki.
