Studied at Victoria University College 1940, served in WWII; graduated as MSc, 1950. Specialised in forestry and deer ecology with the New Zealand Forest Service (NZ Who's who, Aotearoa, 2001; Dominion Post Obituaries Thur, 10 Jun 2004, B9).
