Eichelbaum, Siegfried, 1884-1952

Solicitor and company director of Wellington. Born in San Francisco; emigrated to Wellington and after studying at Victoria University College, graduated with LLB 1912. Later became New Zealand director for S Oppenheimer and Company, New York, sauasage casing manufacturers. Was also a very active ex-alumnus of Victoria University College - he appears to have been involved with every College organisation and club - and, with Frederick de la Mare, edited the the book of Victoria College verse, `The Old clay patch' in 1910, and in subsequent editions. Noted for his work with German refugees in 1930s and 1940s. Married Clara Vera Chapman 1916.
