Description: Christchurch, in May 1860. Looks south, with the Avon River in the middle ground and a bridge over it at Worcester Street on the right. The old land office is left of the bridge. On the left is a short stretch of what is known as either Durham Street or Oxford Terrace. Inwood's flour-mill is beyond the land office and St Michael's further in the background, to the right of the mill building. Taken by Alfred Charles Barker. This photograph is published in Johannes C Andersen's book `Old Christchurch in Picture and Story', 1949, page 165, from which much of the Scope and Contents information is taken.
