Description: Shows view looking over a rocky stream in centre foreground, with background hills seen between the dip in the two smaller hills to the left and right. At left and right stand burnt trunks, the sparse remnants of former bush. Two cattle graze in the centre mid-distance. Note on backing says: "This picture executed by Drummond the artist, Whangarei". This suggests that the work is a scene somewhere in Northland. Other file prints held, of works done in the 1890s, are of the Northland/Whangarei area. Title from typed label attached to backing. Inscriptions: Recto - bottom right - [Signed and dated]. Quantity: 1 oil(s) in frame. Physical Description: Oil on hardboard, 302 x 457 mm.
