Description: A portrait of Harriett Richardson (nee Hudson), the mother of Sarah Harriet Selwyn, the wife of Bishop George Augustus Selwyn, shows Lady Richardson seated in a chair with her feet on a low cushioned footstool. She wears a dark satin dress with full skirt and sleeves, and a very wide lace collar that extends well over her shoulders. Her lace bonnet has frills around the face and is trimmed with ribbon that hangs down on both sides. Lower right corner with name of lithographer is missing from this copy. Identity of the lithographer R J Lane is assumed from the companion lithograph of Lady Richardson's husband (see lithograph at A-439-019). The original sitting was probably 1837 (see A-439-016). The sitter died in 1839. The lithograph may have been made after 1837. Quantity: 1 b&w art print(s). Physical Description: Lithograph, image 218 x 156 mm, on sheet 256 x 193 mm, mounted on paper 332 x 241 mm. Transfers: Other material of the same provenance is at MS-Group-1897..
