Ibbotson, Charles, -1883

Of Thorp Arch, near Tadcaster, England. Purchased land on Kent Terrace, Wellington in 1854. Lived in Victoria, Australia for a time (wrote to Donald Mclean from Melbourne in 1868). Sheep farmer in the Otago region, espescially the Pomahaka and Waikaka areas. At least one son, Frank Williams Ibbotson (died 2 May 1908). Died on 20 Oct 1883 at Geelong, of the firm Dalgety, Ibbotson & Co (Otago daily times, 22 Oct 1883, p 2).
