Auctioneer, merchant, businessman. Son of Thomas and Mary King, brother of Frederic Truby King; he was a stock and station agent whose company eventually became Newton King Ltd. Married Mary St George in 1884. Father of Olive King (fl 1909), Eliot Millar King (1892-1958), and Truby King (fl 1909). Newton King lived at Brooklands from 1888, developing the gardens.
