Teutenberg, Anton, 1840-1933

Born in Prussia. Lived in Auckland after his arrival in New Zealand aged 16, joining his father and brother. Anton Teutenberg was a trained engraver. He designed and carved gargoyles and decorations on the Auckland Supreme Court buildings. Later he returned to engraving and brass work. See New Zealand Biographies (1955, v. 2, p 82).
