Cavdarski, Vanco, 1930-2001

Resident conductor of the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra, 1973-1976 and also of the Christchurch Symphony Orchestra, and the Queensland Symphony Orchestra. He was born in the former Yugoslavia, trained at Zagreb and Belgrade. He worked with Opera Australia, the National Opera of New Zealand, Caracas Opera and the Macedonian National Theatre.

Place of recording - Place of recording Tracks 12-14 are excerpts from a live performance by the New Zealand Opera Company conducted by John Hopkins in 1959. Track 15 from a Television New Zealand production recorded at the Avalon Television Centre in 1981, with the NZSO, conducted by Vanco Cavdarski. All other tracks recorded at 18 Hildreth St, Karori, Dec 1995, with John Morrison on piano.
