Buchan, Alexander, -1769

A member of Joseph Banks party on Cook's first voyage (1768-1771), Buchan helped draw the islands and people that the ship visited, and also took some pen and water-colour drawings of fish, crabs and molluscs, before dying of an epileptic fit. Nothing is known about him previous to the voyage.
