Chamber Music New Zealand

CMNZ

Organisation dedicated to promotion of chamber music through presentation of international concerts and regional concert series, the NZCT Chamber Music contest for secondary school students (annual contest since 1965), and various outreach events such as community workshops, tours, and performances. It has also commissioned compositions.

The organisation has existed under previous names: New Zealand Federation of Chamber Music Societies (1950-1964), Chamber Music Federation of New Zealand (1965-1972), and Music Federation of New Zealand (1973-1992).

President of the Music Federation of New Zealand 1961-1982 was Arthur Hilton.

Supported by Chamber Music New Zealand Foundation, a charitable trust established in 1976 to support Chamber Music New Zealand.
