Captain Beamish. Publican on the Chatham Islands in the late 19th century. Built the hotel in Waitangi known as Mangoutu House with his brother George in the 1860s. Later built a second hotel (ca 1870) at Te One called The Travellors Rest. Married Catherine Julia Fougere in 1868. Father of Ernest Reginald (1873-1889), Marie Caroline (b 1877), Alice Muriel (b 1881), Madeline Frances (1872-1893), Violet Ethel (1874-1935)
